I agree, that is what they should teach. Being trans is a problem but society will not judge you for it.
Even for gays I wish they thought children to stay the fuck away from the gay lifestyle. And although I've not looked at stats I would not be surprised if mental problems like high anxiety and depression to be higher in gays, even with full support.
Acknowledging all of this issues would be much healthier then drag queen story hour and parades of flamboyant oversexualized freaks.

It is higher even in extremely accepting cultures. You can't just hand-wave anxieties due to the fact you'll never have a normal family and make children of your own. The vast majority of humans want that, or they will feel a void in their life as they grow into adulthood.

And it has nothing to do with "because of the straights!"
Those are stats from gay groups within GAY communities.
As RoulerBleu pointed out, they're fighting with their own biology. Humans are sexually dimorphic, and when you start trying to normalize a lifestyle where you're with the same gender, working against producing a genetic lineage, it does affect your neurological homeostasis.
This is why I always say that promoting the gay lifestyle and gay representation is not good. It's absolutely abhorrent for building a healthy and stable society.
Many of these people need serious psychiatric help, not endorsements, or "representation".
EDIT: As an addendum, if someone wants to be gay, they can be gay. I genuinely don't care what someone's personal preferences are. But promoting a dangerous lifestyle to kids should always be off limits.

Your inclination is spot on.
