The new PM was a Major in the Israeli special forces with the political opinions one would expect of such a man. So if you were wondering if the Israeli left were up to the same tricks the Democrats tried with their impeachments, that's clearly not the case.
Then why did all the left-wing parties agree to support his government?
Not that I think it matters. A coalition made up of nine different parties is not going to last. They'll hold together for as long as it takes them to prosecute Netanyahu for corruption and conveniently forget the fact that half of the politicians in the new government used to work for him.
Yea I'm not sure this is a right-shift. Sure the new PM is right-leaning but he's apparently in a coalition with a far-left and an Arab party.
I don't think it's a right shift, but I don't think the far left and Arabs would choose a PM whose response to Israel freeing Palestinian terrorists was allegedly "Israel can't release prisoners if we take no prisoners."
