Most of the comments seem in support of him, so at least some of his community don't really care. If it had happen to someone else then yes there'd be blowback but considering Scott has donated over a million to charity, allows fan games to be published under his label and seems a genuinely chill guy when people criticize how FNAF got popular due to the streamer craze. I think he'll get out of this okay I think.
Trannies like Jimmy Sterling arn't finding much ammo to throw at him, considering he did pay for a transition during a livestream and actually supports the gays in his community. So like I said, Scott is in a unique position where if they cancel him over something trite like this, it only makes them appear as assholes.
"game journalists", and "progressive" devs in the industry on the other have all the power to end his career.
No one listens to game journos and Scott is self-published so there is no dev who can cancel him. Scott is basically in Notch-level "Untouchable", except Scott is still making games. And that most of his fans are sticking by him means there is very little they can actually do to stop him.
EDIT: That said, I absolutely agree with you that this forum is getting extremely toxic lately and its mostly down to the StormFag types showing up for God knows what reason.

WRONG.
Steam, GOG, and other distributors regularly cancel devs for wrongthink. There was some Conservative dev who had his game denied by GOG.
LOTS of devs get cancelled on Steam. A few were cancelled for criticizing China or making pro-Hong Kong sentiments in their games.
There was even the one game, I think it was called Rape Day or something? It was cancelled because some Prime Ministers got offended and basically told Valve they either ban the game or face legal repercussions. So Valve axed the game.
If enough trannies cry and moan to Valve, you can bet your bottom dollar they will cancel Scott. The fact people still think that being "independent" is some safeguard from being cancelled in the gaming industry are naive at best.
Your next reply is going to be "Yeah, but Scott can just sell his games from his website!" and there are lots of indie devs that do that. Outside of Minecraft, I'm hard pressed to think of an indie game that managed to make it big outside of a major distributor.
FNAF is sold incredibly cheaply and likely has seen well past 90% of the sales it will ever see at full price in its life.
Where the money is still made is in tiny children's toys that are fucking everywhere being manufactured and sold. Some for more than the game themselves. A lot of them in the "mystery figure" genre (aka gambling for kids and lots of profit). He still has comics and books being printed regularly and a movie has been sold like 3 times now.
You are incredibly underestimating Scott himself in terms of his empire and self preservation. He didn't avoid the cancel mob this long by being stupid.

And even in the case of Minecraft, not only has it been scooped up by Microsoft and used to push degenerate politics, but Notch has effectively been cancelled. Microsoft even denied him appearing at a Minecraft event -- for the game he created -- because he refused to kowtow to the Left's agenda: https://variety.com/2019/gaming/news/minecraft-creator-excluded-from-anniversary-due-to-comments-and-opinions-exclusive-1203200050/
