Calvinism has this notion of the "Elect" who are the ones pre-ordained by God to be saved. While you can't know with certainty who is or isn't a member of the Elect, generally Calvinists assume that if you're successful in life it's because you're a member of the Elect and as such you are deserving of your wealth.
Calvinists believe that God chose the Christians who will be going to heaven before they were born and you can't do anything to change whether or not you'll be a Christian.
The left believes themselves to be the chosen based on their own secular world view and they deserve their station in life.
Could you elaborate on this?
