Peer pressure only works as long as there are peers to press it
I feel really bad for these kids who's friends (or way worse: their parents) forced them into making a hard life altering decision for them.
Hell is made for the activists who push this demonic shit outside of parental consent too
The problem is, peer pressure works the exact opposite of the way it should these days. They're actively encouraging self-destructive behavior.
You know, there are times for sure where peer pressure is bad of course. However, we have overvillainized peer pressure and applying shame. It actually has a value and a use in the right context and situation that is not only helpful to society but to the person being shamed/pressured. Obviously this VERY MUCH depends on the EXACT situation; what I just said does.
Slut shaming used to be a great method of teaching girls that actions have consequences that last a lifetime, and they should weigh that choice heavily.
Now we have entire generations of girls whose own instincts are slut shaming them and they are being driven mad by it, while they desperately try to redefine happiness as popping 3 different anti-depressants and crying into their cats.
And that's just one single form of shaming.
