I can see how the typical zoomer who doesn't remember 9/11 might think this. The typical zoomer lefty only knows about two things that happened in the past: slavery and Hitler.
When 9/11 comes around again, I wonder if they are going to start downplaying and memory holing it to some extent to make Jan 6th seem like the worst thing ever.

You don't need to wonder - the Democrats and liberal media have been trying to downplay it for a decade. The tone has been slowly shifting, it gets a little more dismissive every year.
Because it led to a 20-year trillion dollar war it's actually possible that it is both overblown and the worst even on American soil since the Civil War.
I can agree with you on becoming a police state as a result. But the sudden violent and massively public execution of thousands of american citizens in the largest city on the world is both horrific from a humanity perspective, as well as a massive blood in the water moment.

As it should be- 9/11 is a vastly overblown event that turned us into a terrified police state.
It was literally the worst event on American soil since the Civil War. It was literally worse than Pearl Harbor. And not by a small amount, either.

Maybe we should get over it. Bunch of weaklings that let our government take unending power because of a couple planes.

Yes, it was horrible, but it's led to the countless amounts of deaths that never should have happened.
