Because it led to a 20-year trillion dollar war it's actually possible that it is both overblown and the worst even on American soil since the Civil War.
I used to think that Bush/Cheney were awful for their reaction to and exploitation of 9/11.
Now I know that Al Gore would've just done the same thing, just like Obama and Biden continued it. Lieberman's nephew would have somehow managed a company that could secure billion dollar contracts to "work" in Iraq.
They're all the fucking same. There's the Republican/Democrat political establishment that protects itself and pretends to squabble over petty differences like abortion that they insist matter more than anything else; please ignore us while we loot the entire country.
I can agree with you on becoming a police state as a result. But the sudden violent and massively public execution of thousands of american citizens in the largest city on the world is both horrific from a humanity perspective, as well as a massive blood in the water moment.
As it should be- 9/11 is a vastly overblown event that turned us into a terrified police state.
It was literally the worst event on American soil since the Civil War. It was literally worse than Pearl Harbor. And not by a small amount, either.

Bush's Cheney-driven neocon retardation certainly exploited 9/11, but it does not detract from the magnitude of what happened.

Maybe we should get over it. Bunch of weaklings that let our government take unending power because of a couple planes.

Yes, it was horrible, but it's led to the countless amounts of deaths that never should have happened.
