Allegedly. Time's Up is behind it though, so I wouldn't put any stock in that whatsoever.
It's likely because Promising Young Woman, the feminist murder fantasy propaganda supported by Time's Up and recommended for viewing in college seminars, didn't win any awards.
"Promising Young Woman": Feminist Anti-Male Torture Porn where all Men are sexual predators. For 8 years, the Promising Young Woman fakes being drunk at night clubs, baits horny men in taking her home. Once inside the apartment, she suddenly "wakes up" and tortures & mutilates them.
During the middle of the film we learn that 8 years ago, the Promising Young Woman's female College Friend was sexually assaulted at a College Party. But because of the Nasty White Male Lawyers, no one was charged. Suddenly, the Woman receives a "never before seen" video of the party where the assault took place. She learns that one of the Guy's at that party is now getting married.
The Woman refuses to hand off the video to the Authorities. Instead, she infiltrates the Guy's bachelor party dressed as a "Very Sexy Nurse" and poisons all drunk guys with a strong sedative. She then proceeds to chain the Guy to a bed waiting for his lap dance. When he realizes who the Woman is, he tells her that he did not rape her friend. The Guy begs her to unchain him, but the Woman refuses. Suddenly, she opens up a large bag of torturing devices. As she approaches him, the Guy pins her down to the bed using his legs. After 2 minutes, the Woman is dead. The Guy and his friend burn & bury the Woman in a mountain.
In the final scene, we learn that the Woman previously sent the video to authorities and instructions to follow if she does not return. The police discover her burnt remains and arrest the Guy for the murder during his wedding reception. The End.
Yeah, I watched it. I like the actress Carey Mulligan. She is very cute and talented. But this movie was like a car wreck. I could not stop watching it. Don't worry. They did not get a single cent from me. ;-)
Isn't this because the Foreign Press group isn't "diverse enough"?

Please don't fund the enemy.
