Everything here is correct, but if you don't believe, don't go up for communion. A fair amount of people don't, as you're not supposed to receive while in a state of sin.

As I recall it's a violation of canon law to give communion to a non-Catholic (not that anyone cares, least of all the priests).
I get roped into Catholic stuff regularly, I've only done communion when there's only like 10 of us and it'd be weird if I skipped.
