I gotta say I'm surprised. I thought they might get him on manslaughter, but I didn't expect this. Every LEO working in a jurisdiction with a leftist government and/or prosecutors should go for a pack a cigs and not come back.
Yep. No matter how deep the calling to try and do some good might be it is clear that the personal risk you assume to do so is extremely high. You're existence is now at the whim of the mob. Should they decide you stepped outside whatever the lines were tomorrow you will not have the support of fellow officers or your government. You will be left in the wind to answer to the mob and nothing more.
I absolutely am surprised as well. If he got convicted of manslaughter, I would at least not be too angry. I would UNDERSTAND. But this is literally an open race war.
Taking that logic, why ever stand up for good? It’s always more risky than complying with evil.
Those jurors didn’t save themselves from much since they just validated the mob. Their movement will only grow from here and nobody in that area will escape unscathed.
Not everyone is willing to stand up for good vs. complying with evil. The entire year of 2020 is proof of that.
It is not always possible to know in advance whether or not you will be the person willing to stand for good at the cost of your own life. We all like to think we will, but history is full of men who failed to do so at some critical juncture.

The odds are good that if you don't convict on all accounts your life is forfeit. Do you sacrifice your life for a stranger and for Justice?
I don't know what I would do in that circumstance.

police are mercenaries for the establishment. they need a paycheck just as badly as the average person does.
