Police Activity has a video showing not just the shooting, but the lead up and aftermath.
It shows the desperate struggle of 6-8 officers rendering aid trying to save his life, and the near breakdown of the officer who shot him.
But its flagged to all hell and you're not even allowed to use the share function.
The officer knew he had a gun. Either he should have dropped the gun in a way that the officer would have seen it, or if you're going to be stupid to not be caught, at least do not make sudden movements when the officer thinks you're still carrying a gun!!!
I'm just thinking about other body cam footage I've seen, especially that one where the guy answers the door carrying a gun and gets shot while trying to drop it. It seems to me having a gun in your hand at all is a death sentence, just trying to figure out what you could do if you do happen to have a gun and are caught by the cops and do not intend to shoot them.
Look at a lot of self defense training/tips.
Even just a random traffic stop they all say sit still, notify the officer that you are carrying and don't fucking do anything except what he tells you. They also emphasise holstering ASAP or dropping your gun as soon as the sirens arrive if you do end up in a defensive shooting.
What ever you do don't be in a situation where you are either holding a gun or they spot it before you can tell them about it.
Shit gets tricky when you see conservatives demonstrating and open carrying their AR-15s without being immediately gunned down by the police. I know the difference, but trying to break it down for folks is a tough one sometimes.
Also the Black Panthers in the old days, the recent Not Fucking Around Coalition (who had what, two separate NDs during protests), armed ANTIFA at Chsrlottesville and others.
Its not just Republicans/Right wingers/white people who do that, and outside of the NDs last year during the NFAC protests, not a shot has ever been fired during those protests.
Oh yeah, I remember that. That whole thing was just fucking terrible. The reason he had a gun is because the psycho who had been harassing them called the cops. He answered with a gun because he wanted to scare the dude away, and you could see the horror in his body language when he realized he was looking at a gun pointed at him by a cop. He never saw the primary officer's partner put a shot right in his dome at point blank range as he tried to get on his knees and set the gun down.
As soon as he came storming out of that doorway with a gun in his hand, I don't think he could have saved his life. His reaction time was shorter than the officer's reaction time on his left.
