So we’ve now officially gone from vaccine to vaccine plus booster, and now are at just keep taking shots every year.

I'll second their experience. Not that I've gotten the shot, but a lot of my employees have and I could literally see them deteriorating before my eyes. Mostly between losing control of their arm or it being in such a pain they would prefer it be completely numb.
It isn't a simple in/out thing. Almost everyone who told me they had it, also had a painful reaction to it in some form.
I'm not sure what's worse at this point, the test or the vaccine.
The test requires them to jam a q-tip so far back into your sinuses that it's basically stabbing you in the brain. Like, a 4"-6" q-tip. One of my co-workers did it at a drive-through, and called it "legitimately one of the worst experiences of my life".
I don't do well with things in my nose, and I don't think I could deal with that as a test. Seriously, just do a blood draw at that point. That's way faster, way easier, and way less painful than swabbing my brain.
Yeah I wouldn't do that in the slightest. When I had to get a test due to a friend's exposure it was just a mouth swab which was simple enough.
