I passed out while observing a surgery once bc of the knee lock. The nurses told me it’s common. People lock their knees and stand in one place for too long and they pass out. Supposed to do a shuffle side to side and move around some.
Yea, that is what I've been saying. Classic locked knees keel over like a felled tree.
Fun fact: My boot camp pass in review was over 3 hours long. Of the 5 graduating companies, we lost 4 people to fainting that whole time. 3 hours in July Great Lakes summer heat is a long time to stand in formation. ;)
Not in this case. I actually saved myself once because I hadn't had any water and when I started to pass out, I knees went limp, I got circulation back, and stood back up. It was pretty weird.
If you lock your knees normally, they'll stay locked as you pass out. You'll kinda feel like you're trying to stop yourself, but it's normally always too late.
Instead everyone around you tries a mad, and hopeless scramble to grab you with one hand so you don't completely destroy your face when you hit the concrete.
Sgt: "DON'T LOCK YOUR FUCKING KNEES"
Pvt: immediately locks knees

You'd think not locking them would be common knowledge honestly

Don't you go limp when you just pass out? She seems rather stiff and cramping up.
Although that's possibly from her head hitting the ground pretty hard.
