I tried heroin once (not even willingly mind you) and I spent 3 months dreaming (awake and asleep) of it and thinking about it 24/7. I had myself fully convinced that I only did it once, and I can totally do it a few more times without getting addicted.
I haven't done it ever again, but looking back, it's insane how addictive that stuff is.
I'm glad you were able to get clean. Not sure what the story is behind taking it nonconsensualy, but good to hear you were able to kick it. What really sucks about addiction is that you never truly can go back to how you were before ever starting. There will forever be a lingering desire for what ever your poison was buried in the recesses of your you mind. I hope you can stay clear. Never give into the "just once more couldn't hurt" nagging thought. ESPECIALLY if someone goads you into it. Sometimes turning down someone is even harder than turning yourself down.
