Take Microsoft, for example. They've been going after open source software for years. They buy GitHub and make a code of conduct standard for all new projects as well as pushing them among open source in general, driving away the kind of talented developers that aren't good at socializing or simply care more about merit and the project than other factors.
It's not all that different from their tactics in the 90s and 00s, but calling them out for it is now verboten.
