He's supporting the elderly more than anyone else. Japan's welfare state has a non-typical conservative regime. Similar to other conservative countries, Japan has an occupational segmented social insurance system. Pre-war Japan once adopted a Prussian-style social policy. Japan also borrowed ideas of pensions and health from the Prussian system. In addition, Japan's welfare state embodies familialism, whereby families rather than the government will provide the social safety net. The the Japanese government provided social care programs to the elderly and children, along with the policy that promoted general equality starting heavily in the 90s and ramping up hard in the mid 2000s (UN bullshit probably). While in 2016, there were 1.4 million single parent households in the country. Nearly 90%, or 1.2 million, were led by mothers and single mothers in Japan live in a culture that makes them particularly vulnerable to poverty and social isolation. Japanese society is very conservative and it is considered taboo to be a single parent AND The pill is not covered by Japanese Health Insurance, and the cost is approximately 3,000 yen per month. Some doctors run blood tests or do a pap smear test to check if you are fit for the pill use and control such as the morning after pill are available only through visitation of a clinic and not at drugstores. Oral contraceptives, which were legalized in 1999, are also not covered by Japanese Health Insurance and cost 3-5 thousand yen a month.....being a whore isn't cheap apparently, socially or financially.
So, if I were to summarize all this, it would be: Those poor women, being single mothers through no fault of their own. Won't anyone think of the women.
What I don't see in there is: Why are they single. What about the children? What about the fathers?
So? I have a revolutionary idea. Don't fuck people you are not willing and prepared to have children with when you are not able to afford fucking contraceptives.
Point i was making
you
The point you are making is that everyone is to blame but women themselves. Society, the elderly, the UN, men, whatever. As long as no one blames the poor women.
I'm sure that's not the point you wanted to make. But that was the point you made with your little rant.
That's NOT the point i was making. The point i WAS making is that your "he pays for them" (paraphrase) comment was factually incorrect, the elderly and healthcare are what the majority of his money goes to statistically
That's roughly $30 USD.
Japan isn't a poor country, and Japanese women aren't poor. They can afford their own goddamn birth control.
They also don't make as much as western countries, According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, in 2019, the average yearly salary of a Japanese worker was 3,077,000 yen*. This comes out to be about 256,416 yen per month. In terms of US dollars (using the average exchange rate for 2019) that's $28,227 per year, or $2,352 a month.
