Prominent atheists and internet skeptics have been attacking Christianity and only Christianity for years, decades and centuries over the premise that people should not believe any "God", which in their case, only the Abrahamic God, building their careers in it, raking money as they go and gaining notoriety for solely attacking Christians. I don't care if some of them are dead, or bed ridden, they contributed to this mess.
Was it for "promoting" logic or reason? Was it really about teaching people to have an "open mind"? I now beg to differ. Seems like atheism have been a gateway into this global Marxist pandemic we're having, considering that Marxists have been for the burning of ancient scriptures, the destruction of holy landmarks that are related to Christianity.
The way I see it, there's two kinds of atheists:
Two sides of the same coin, so maybe there's only one kind of atheist.
Then you'd be wrong.
A genuine atheist needs to fucking deconvert and recognize moral foundations that he has to test and establish for himself.
I agree with this, and it was something I felt obligated to do when I stopped being religious. However it was also something I observed none of my friends who grew up in irreligious households did, and I remember many a time having the following conversation:
Friend: "religious people just follow whatever morality they grew up with"
Me: "did you derive your moral system from first principles?"
Friend: "well, no..."
Me: "is your moral system pretty much like your parents'?"
Friend "well, yeah..."
May I suggest you read The Brothers' Karamazov? There's public domain audiobooks around, even on youtube.
And they never actually investigate their own beliefs. Yeah. They aren't actually prepared to answer moral questions.
That's not how the No True Scotsman fallacy works.
These people aren't atheists because they never deconverted. If you're literally just angry at God, then you're not an atheist.
At least spiritually, there's no such thing as an atheist. There's only those who reject God.
That's still you asserting that God exists to reject, and that "spirituality" is also a thing.
It shall be asserted always.
