Masks are effective at stopping solids and liquids, like spit. They don't stop airborne particles.

The commissars don't care.

Cloth masks would help if covid spread through fomites like the flu does. Covid does not spread through fomites. I've already noticed the media ramping up with "do the new covid variants spread through fomites?"
