Now tie this in to "bUt mY DreAm is to become a "gamer"" from that lame-ass video.
Call me old, but there's something rather ill about society when kids start "aspiring" to become famous playing games. Woops, we already have professional sports ....
A curse on the Greatest Generation for pushing the "doctor lawyer indian chief because it's where the money and ego-stroking is" bullshit, instead of pushing practical stuff/trades. Because not everyone can be a doctorlawyerindianchief, but they are all taught they want and deserve the money and prestige.
Kids want to be what looks fun or exciting. I wanted to be a superhero when I was six. Then a professional wrestler when I was ten. Kids grow out of this shit.
You say that, until you realize that all of the pros in football/rugby/wrestling are getting complete mental breakdown caused by tons of concussions, leading to them beating or killing their wife, motor loss, and suicide. I'm fine when people talk about becoming famous off games, but it pisses me off when they do it riding someone else's coattails. The ones that deserve praise are the ones who add rigorous analysis to elevate the game and figure out its intricacies, or those who just add something new AND interesting to it.
Well, flipping that around, traditional sports, like animal games, are meant to train and prepare youth for a life of running, jumping, fighting, hiding and hunting.
Video games prepare modern techno-youth for a George Jetson lifestyle.
But to make a living out of either? Kind of like being stuck in a tutorial forever, isn't it?
I was gonna say, if you're in the top tier of competitive gamers, you have to be somewhat fit. Improved blood circulation alone does wonders for concentration and reflexes.

A lot more aren't though. That's the problem.
