Here's how I explained it to a co-worker: what if, instead of running around like they were on Jackass taking selfies in silly costumes, the rioters at the capitol had actually staged a coup/insurrection? Imagine if they had assaulted multiple elected officials, set fire to the building, detonated bombs, taken hostages. If that were the case, would the rhetoric coming from the left be any different right now? How could it be? They're already calling Trump supporters domestic terrorists and insurrectionists. They've already turned the accusations up to eleven. There's a chasm of difference between what happened on 1/6 and an actual insurrection, but leftists are comparing the capitol riot to fucking 9/11. With straight faces. How is that not insane?
These people are like soccer players who catch some incidental contact and then pretend that they've been stabbed. It's all a ploy to trick the referee into pulling the red card. Just replace "the referee" with "the state" and replace "the red card" with "the new Patriot Act, only this time it's targeting half the country".
That's a damn good argument; persuasive, and exposes the biased and dishonest media coverage.
What have your responses to that argument been like?
I literally will not discuss politics with anyone at work or among family. Not after last week. Too dangerous. The person I mentioned in my previous post is a 100% red pilled nationalist.
Same thing with election fraud.
How would the 2020 election look any different if we knew for sure that there was election fraud?
It wouldn't look any different. They would refuse to do signature matching. They would stop the count when they're clearly about to lose so they have time to bring in the necessary amount of ballots to make up the difference. They would block observers from watching the count. They would adjudicate a large percentage of batches in key cities. They'd shred ballot envelopes (which is against the law) making it impossible to verify which ballots were actually mailed. They'd refuse to allow third party auditors to examine the voting machines. They'd do all of that and more to somehow pull off a miraculous victory that flies in the face of every historical indicator that all clearly pointed to them losing big time.
Trump saving the day with a massive purge of the true seditionists is a LARP until otherwise proven.
At this point, hope for the insurrection act, but prep for a very dark winter.
Kunstler is pretty cool, nice to see his stuff posted here.
As someone else said, though, a lot of this sounds like LARP. I'm hoping Kunstler is right - and he is generally a bright, accurate, and sane guy - but I do think he's overestimating Trump here. Yes, Trump is smart, and not a quitter...but he's also not perfect, has his negative qualities, and can get outplayed. Occam's Razor says Trump got outplayed, and some of his negative attributes is that he's a sore loser, and sometimes misses some things. Personally, I suspect Trump is floundering and raging quite a bit. I hope I'm wrong, and Trump has this handled and is in the process of pulling off some of the most stellar 4D chess ever seen, but we just have to wait and see at this point.
