That article finally pushed me away. I've been half-heartedly trying alternatives for a while but I'm now on Brave.
Transition was surprisingly smooth. Built-in adblock and bookmarks and logins all got imported. Now I still have to decide between NoScript and uMatrix for my script blocking needs and I'm set.
Edit: Looks like I'm going with NoScript. uMatrix is way more powerful but apparently the dev stopped development.

I am liking Brave so far also. Mozilla products, never again.
Apparently it's the same dev that made Ublock Origin and he's focusing on that and gave up on umatrix.
What did Noscript do?
