The Republican States will be heavily sanctioned and squeezed hard in trade deals
Uh, no, that's not it works at all.
The "blue" states are, to a one, not mainly primary producers. They don't grow corn, wheat, soybeans, cattle, pigs, chickens, or extract oil or coal.
If you partition the country along a rural state, urban state divide, what will ensue is the collapse of the urban states economies as they are forced to deal with the real cost of food.
You see, despite the annual liberal cries that the USDA is subsidizing agriculture, the reality is that North American agriculture is the most productive and economical in the world. Weaponized, the price of food can be used to crush whole nations, and that is exactly what would happen to the blue states.
The rest of the world does not produce enough surplus to sustain "blue america". Hell, the rest of the world doesn't even entirely feed itself TODAY without "red america".
I'm aware that they can produce their own food, to feed their people.
But the majority of people are not farmers, and all big companies will up and leave, taking their side.
How are you going to help them? Pretty much every business that isn't family-owned is going straight out of your country.
Canada or some other feminist shithole will send food to the opposition at a loss so that starvation tactics can't be used.
They will take a pyrrhic victory if that's what has to be done. They will take huge financial losses to crush the resistance permanently and make an example of it.
Isn't Monsanto the topic of about 90 billion different conspiracy theories?
So I'm assuming now the tactics that would be employed would be to create a mostly farming based economy, with all the companies that operate in that sector staying put to keep your people in work.
You're operating on the idea that people outside of your nation would still buy products from these companies. Is that a realistic expectation?
I just can't see a nation possibly sustain itself with zero allies, no trade and powerful enemies everywhere.

I don't think that likely.
Let's break down those big companies you speak of.
Big companies in the red midwest...
Archer Daniels Midland. Cargill. John Deere. Pioneer. Monsanto.
What do they all have in common?
I'm guessing they all relate to farming.

Yes.
In terms kcals/acre/year, if you get Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas alone to stop farming for two years, a billion people die.
You control the food.
Lefties control the bureaucracy and CDC with Critical Race Theory.
Enjoy anthrax.
We actually have our own CDC.
The National Animal Disease Center (in Iowa) actually plays with way scarier stuff than anthrax.
Bruh they got CRT into Idaho Sandia nuke lab.
Have you checked any of "your" troops for commies lately?
You mean West Montana or North Utah?
