It felt like playing GTA San Andreas on mobile. That's the best comparison I can give.
zero synergy between teammates
Well, they did partner with Epic. Maybe they based it on the average Fortnite squads game.
shit AI
"Oh, you're shooting me. Let me just stand still and let you."
Kind of reminds me of Saints Row 4, except the fact that game was ridiculous enough to get away with it.
picking up glowing balls
It's very 90s - early 00s.
clunky controls
I thought it was just that I hadn't played anything for a while. Guess they sucked for everyone.
tacked-on loot mechanics
"People like Destiny, we should have Destiny mechanics in our game."
kill evolve
That game had the most convoluted transaction system ever. You could buy monsters to fight, or you could buy a season pass, or you could buy an online pass to play with certain monsters with friends, or you could buy a gun pack or....god it was stupid.
I'm not attempting to justify. The gaming collective has a short and very selective memory. DLC wasn't done well by Avengers and it deserves the hate, but it was done countless times between 2015 and Avengers and you only hear about it when it's a publisher everyone hates. Square mostly gets glossed over.
yeah. i really want to play the new cyberpunk, but i'm so burned that i don't even look to get a cheap key with a vpn.
even with this, the only game i actually look forward to, i default to waiting for the goty-edition on the cheap in a couple of years.
i'm so annoyed at all the collectors/preorder/superduperfancypreoder-blablablub-editions, should-be-in-the-game-at-release-DLCs that i don't even get to the woke part.
it's fucked up really. now that i'm an adult who could afford to buy every games collectors edition these mongs fucked up so hard i will pay 10€ max for a AAA game.

Honestly, I miss the days where the biggest issue was ridiculous DLC or stupid pre-order bonuses.
Now, every game is either woke as fuck, "free" to play item collecting simulator or both.
