That is the Dark Horse scenario: that if he's a dead man anyways maybe he doesn't go down without a fight.
I don't buy the whole "Trump is going to make a TV network to compete with Fox" line because he must know the tech companies and cable and satellite providers would suppress it. He will not be allowed to live a normal life, nor will his children. At best he will spend the rest of his life fighting court battles brought against him by various State and Federal agencies. At worst his plane will experience some sort of "malfunction" in-flight and he and his entire family will die in a "tragic accident".
Some of the people closest to him in the administration are blood relatives. The whole narrative of "Trump is putting his guys in at the Pentagon to shield him from the Russia investigation" is total bullshit. There's talk of him starting to hold rallies again. And now he's congratulating his supporters for starting to fight back.
And he has supporters who would crawl over broken glass for him that have been beaten in the street for 5 years while the police let it happen, who see an election stolen from their guy while the entire media and tech company apparatus gaslights them into thinking it didn't happen. They are angry; probably more angry than they've ever been in their lives.
Those are all ingredients you would need for a coup. If you told me a foreign leader was doing these things in some other country I'd say "that guy is trying to stage a coup".
I just don't know if that's what the actual plan is.
I just don't know if that's what the actual plan is.
Right?
Like, normally, the people who back Trump would be hardcore against a coup or anything like it. But with the severity of the attacks being leveled against them and Trump himself, I can see a not insignificant portion of the populace deciding that Biden's government is illegitimate, and people might actually back such a move.
I have no idea.
I know a lot of people feel like they're under siege. If it looks like someone's actually coming to help, they might sally out and when people that desperate make a move, it tends to be sudden and absolute. I'm shocked nobody died at the MAGA March this weekend, but it's only a matter of time. So long as people who support Trump keep rallying, people who oppose him are going to want them removed from society. That only ends one way.
Has anyone else noticed Trump seems to have taken a bit more of a congratulatory tone recently to his supporters defending themselves against antifa?
First calls antifa scum and praises his supporters for fighting back. Later on calls antifa human garbage and praises them being arrested.
I don't remember him saying such things before, but perhaps I just missed it.
He doesn't have to worry about public opinion now, the election is over.
Trump Unleashed.
Even if he loses, they're going to want him dead or in jail. Trump as President-in-Exile is a nightmare scenario for them.
