This isn't just the Democrat party and election officials committing what is effectively sedition. It's THE MAJOR POWERS OF THE INTERNET.

I don't know what legal options trump had besides the potential of a competent doj breaking up big tech with anti-trust suits which would drag on for years. Shaming big tech has no impact. Big tech lying to congress has no impact. Legislation making it illegal to censor government officials? Maybe but it would never get though.
So far, it has not been that damaging, it may have even helped him - the Hunter Biden story was at least as much about tech censorship as about corruption. Same for what is happening right now, with Twitter censoring supposedly the most powerful man on earth.

For many other things, it's been extremely damaging.
What are you talking about, it is very damaging to trump. They are not just censoring and banning trump they are censoring and banning conservatives in general so people were not able to campaign for trump or speak out on the evidence on the frauds.
They tried to be damaging to Trump, but it backfired with the Hunter Biden thing, and right now, some people like Michael Tracey are wondering why an oligrachic tech company gets to censor the legitimate POTUS.
"Backfiring" means consequences.
Was anybody fired? Fined? Jailed? No? Still banning Stop the Steal pages on Facebook? Still censoring Trump and giving ballots to Biden?

What downfall? Big Tech censorship is what the left intended. It gave leftists the win.
There's a downfall only if Trump wins, AND remembers to crack down on them, AND is successful despite endless lies and censorship.

Microsoft isn't about to collapse because of one little election. Trump has only been a speed-bump and a stall. That' probably the thing that's killing them more than anything. He's causing them to throw their objectives back by a few years.
Don't get me wrong, they're right to be freaked out, they have a critical timing problem right now, mostly of their own invention. But they're not on the brink of collapse. They're just upset that they are going to be losing gains.
I honestly expect several sites to go down IF they decide to do anything.
There will likely be a spike in fraud due to amazon shutting down.
