the belief that because you deemed something as racist that gives you the authority to tear it down. is wrong.

you possess not such authority. you will be challenged for such claims.

in a country with freedom of speech when someone says something you don't like you have to tolerate it. unless it violates one of your recognized rights. and few other exceptions.

if this premise: "is racist therefore destroy it" is allowed then anyone who holds enough influence in his hands will have only to point something and label it "racist" to have the mob destroy it for him. your iconoclast act to defy an horrendous ideology has became a tool to destroy political dissent.

you blindly are convinced to act in name of justice, while actually simply destroy the foundations of our freedom, justice is subjective.

The people who are glorified ruined lives, they shouldn't have been honored with a statue in the first place. Evil people shouldn't get a statue

you are not in charge of deciding who is evil. nor enact sentences upon them.

If they kill or enslave people, they are evil

I disagree on a fundamental level. I agree that these people are evil, but the conclusion that thus they must not "get a statue" is pure fantasy. People should be allowed to do what they want with their owned property, including erect a statue of anybody they want, no matter how immoral.

Stalin, in my view, was a profoundly evil man. He had no regard for human life, he had no sense of moderation, and he was what amounts to the ultimate incarnation of the "Janny" personality.

Yet, if somebody had a huge block of marble and tools to carve it, should they choose to carve a statue of Stalin and place it upon their own property, so long as they do not hurt anybody else or their property, they should be allowed to do so.
