He was, temporarily. They pulled him off of the project for a while until the shit-storm blew over, then re-attached him to it once the tempest in a teacup was done. He's still the same shit-heel he was before, but the house of the mouse and his leftist buddies are counting on everyone going HA HA FUNNY MOVIE and forgetting the trash he spewed in the past.
Either way, GotG3 is part of the Nu-MCU, so I won't be bothering to go see it. Between COVID delaying stuff and Endgame capping the last arc, they've lost any momentum they ever had, on top of the ensuing wokeness shit-show.
Edit: I also forgot that he bounced over to DC for a bit after the pro-kiddie-diddler allegations blew up, and he did The Suicide Squad over there while he was in Marvel purgatory. It still blows my mind that he could get work, at all, after basically admitting to being pro-pedo.
Pretty much. When they went woke as fuck with Black Panther, announced the retcon shoehorn of Captain Marvel into the MCU, and that they weren't going to be using Adam Warlock for the Infinity War, that's where I (and I assume many other people) checked the fuck out. I stuck with it to see out the end of the arc, but once Endgame was done that was it for me and trying to watch every MCU movie.
Yeah. They initially teased his pod in a throwaway scene in the Collector's menagerie in GG1 (along with Howard the Duck!) and did the full teaser for it in the post-credits scene in GG2. Too little, too late, though, because they already had plans in place for Captain Flatass and her amazing lack of emotional range to be the savior of the universe. Rumor had it they were going be trotting out Adam Warlock for GG3, potentially along with the actual Nova (not the Corps), but if Feige gets a wild hair then lord knows when or even if it'd ever happen. Hell, knowing them, they'd probably try to make Adam Warlock trans, and the Nova they bring out would be Sam Alexander instead of Richard Rider.

Everyone basically knew Woke Marvel was coming after the Infinity Saga ended, even before Infinity War and Endgame.

Wasn’t he the GG2 ending tease?
