Just being better than Biden is sadly useless if you cannot beat Biden in a general election.
Yes even the absolutely pathetic version of Trump that we see now is still better than Biden.
Who cares about who is better if you cannot win the general election?
Trump cannot win 2024 and that is the main reason why he should not be the GOP nominee.
There are many other reasons I dislike Trump running again like his poor personnel selection, bungling COVID response, failing to crackdown on BLM riots and making the worst endorsements in swing races in 2022 but electability is clearly the main thing that matters.
Losing 2024 to Biden permanently seals the destruction of America.
In most white collar suburban social circles, being outed as a Trump supporter is the worst thing that can happen to your overall reputation.
I have seen firsthand how suburban independents feel about him since 2017. This has only gotten worse since after STS and J6.
He has no path to victory in 2024.
You don't even live in America. You know nothing about how much independents despise Trump and why they despise him.
You obviously will continue to deny all arguments about how weak of a candidate 2024 Trump is. This is a waste of my time.
Good day to you.
Your comment about Marco Rubio is asinine. Look at past governor races. DeSantis's size of win is rarely seen in the state of Florida. Charlie Crist and Rick Scott never got close to that type of win.
The average independent voter sadly prefers accepting the destructive policies of Biden when faced with Trump as the alternative who they view as intolerable and unacceptable.
These voters hate Stop the Steal, they hate what happened on J6 and they blame Trump for it. They already hated Trump's personality before. Trump's standing with independents has only worsened since 2020.
This is a sad fact but it is a fact.
Go look at how every Trump endorsed MAGA candidate in GA, PA, WI and AZ all lost in 2022 even with insanely high inflation.
The 2022 election was expected to be a red wave since we expected it to be a referendum on Biden. It ended up being not a referendum on Biden because Trump unfortunately entered the equation by pushing certain candidates who spent time in the general election constantly yelling Trump won 2020 and sucking Trump off. Lake and Mastriano were the prime examples of this.
Trump has no path to victory over Biden because the average independent voter in America personally despises Trump for a multitude of reasons. These people could even be starving personally and they would still prefer Biden over Trump.
Interesting assessment of this dynamic.
Still made no sense to me.
Trump is always pro Trump not pro White like this crowd yearns for.
Trump is objectively weaker on electability compared to RDS.
The country has already made its mind up on Trump one way or the other.
No one who voted for Biden in 2020 will switch to Trump in 2024.
He has no pathway to winning 2024.
Trump's reputation is baked in.
Trump has also accrued more baggage since 2020 with Stop the Steal and J6.
He can't improve from his 2020 performance.
He cannot win.
The Dems bought ads for Mastriano in the primaries and that was enough for him to win the primary overwhelmingly.
They didn't need to prop him up with fake polls.
Consider how the Dems gave Trump a CNN townhall just last week.
The Dems obviously understand how to manipulate the GOP base into nominating the weakest candidate running from a electability standpoint.
How were the polls in 2022?
Let's ask Senator Laxalt, Senator Walker and Senator Masters?
What does Governor Lake, Governor Michels and Governor Ronchetti have to say about this?
Polls are obviously a tool to manipulate public opinion not measure public opinion.
The left has clearly learned how to better manipulate the right since 2016.
In 2022 they promoted unelectable candidates like Mastriano, Joe Kent and John Gibbs in GOP primaries so the Dems would have a easier time of winning. That gambit absolutely worked out well for them.
This is what the pollsters are doing with regards to any polls containing Trump for 2024.
Is the GOP base dumb enough to fall for this?
I hope not.
Okay?
So you rather have Biden?
The only options you have for 2024 are Biden or RDS. Even if Trump becomes the nominee for the GOP, he is not capable of winning another general election.
President Trump was the most pro-Jewish and Zionist president in modern history.
I will never understand the anti-Israel/ anti Jew crowd rallying around Trump as your standard bearer.
You are misinterpreting what I want.
I merely want the best conditions possible for a RDS nomination.
Trump being on Twitter harms the Trump 2024 campaign more than anything anyone can attack him on.
As someone who wants to win 2024, I primarily want to avoid a Trump 2024 nomination. He will tank the down-ballot races and also lose to Biden.
It is not at all about harming Trump personally.
It is about ensuring Trump harms his own reputation enough to the point that he loses a primary.
All RDS supporters including me humbly welcome former President Trump back to Twitter.
It will be the best in kind contribution to DeSantis 2024.
I want the entire GOP primary electorate to see what Trump is saying recently.
Nothing can harm Trump more than his own insane statements attacking RDS on baseless grounds.
I mean blackpilled or whitepilled only on topic of the intelligence of the GOP electorate.
My overall mood is not connected to what the GOP base voters does or doesn't do.
My own mental health is important and I won't let something as stupid as the preferences of people who I am gauging as generally dumb influence that
Will RDS's more conservative policy overcome a cult of personality around Trump?
The 2024 primary will be the biggest IQ test the GOP electorate has ever faced.
I will either be completely white-pilled or completely black-pilled about the intelligence of the GOP electorate depending on who they ultimately nominate for 2024.
Trump was very quick to praise and hire and reluctant to fire.
It was the opposite of the type of persona that he had built on the Apprentice.
He will likely double down on it.
Trump is approaching the primaries with a mindset of never having the same position as RDS on any issue.
This doesn't bode well at all for his stances on every key issue.
Trump is a narcissist and constantly makes bombastic statements. Automatically assigning the best intent to them is an act of mind reading that I will not engage in.
RDS's policy on Ukraine was not backtracked to please Liz Cheney. That is an absurd statement. He basically clarified his verbiage on whether the conflict was a border skirmish. He merely clarified that he thinks Russia was in the wrong for invading Ukraine in his second statement.
People on our forum have certain views about the Ukraine conflict that the larger primary electorate which has many boomer cons don't share.
RDS was likely trying to clarify his stance for that reason.
Trump's Truth Social exclusivity deal expires this June.
He will be most likely back on Twitter soon after that.
It is sad that he could eventually spiral to the point he says something similar to this about RDS.
Trump's policy on Ukraine is a meme.
He is claiming he will end the war in 24 hours and won't elaborate on anything.
The man couldn't finish the wall in 4 years but he is going to end this war in less than a day?
Press X to doubt.
He is coming back to Twitter and he will make these dumb comments again.
He won't be able to resist making these retard comments in primary debates either unless he is afraid and won't attend any debates.
I guarantee that Trump will be to the left of RDS on this crucial issue.
Trump previously said in 2019 that he wanted the highest level of legal immigration.
Meanwhile DeSantis's position on immigration is this. https://twitter.com/ChristinaPushaw/status/1659012556814528515
I guess Trump has decided that killing the elderly in nursing homes is what successful COVID policy looks like in his eyes.
The right in America saw how the Dems handled COVID.
We are not going to be shocked by anything the Dems try to do.
What exactly did you have in mind with your statement?
Jerome Adams is easily one of Trump's worst hires of his entire Presidency and that is saying something.
This clown is saying all of this insane fearmongering shit about COVID on May 19 of 2023. In fucking 2023.
