Sometimes you can't beat a good bastard in a story, someone who will do underhanded tactics to win, kick a defeated opponent when they are down or is always about the reward after they complete a quest/job.
Been reading The Greatest Estate Developer and it's your standard Isekai tale, guy wakes up in the body of a lords eldest son he read a fictional story about and knows they are in massive debt, all die to be the catalyst for the knight that serves them who's the MC. So he uses his architectural knowledge to change their fortunes but does it in the most bastard way.
He'll bitch slap an entire college full of stuck up nobles because he can get away with it, kurbstomp his opponent after he wins a duel to then trick him into exile, force a water contract on a rival noble that essentially binds his future generations to pay him extortionate fees and much more. This series jusy passed 100 episodes and has some of the best faces I've seen from a series.
So whether it's Leon from MobuSeka or Amos from The Expanse, who's your favourite fictional bastards?
So we are more than a month into the budweiser one and it's been longer for the hogwarts one so let's see the affects.
So the recent one first, they're MASSIVELY losing money, a large percentage of their consumers have switched, they got downgraded by banks because of the damage to it's product's image and it seems to just continue as they now run around like headless chickens trying to put out fires with petrol everytime they make a statement.
Now the hogwarts one, well the complete opposite. WB is going harder into the franchise even setting out a 10 year series based on the books, it made bank for the studio. It created a big wedge between streamers and the left and it's highlighted all the issues with any vtuber agencies that has left leaning bias the biggest one of these was Nijisanji. A talent called Zaion got fired and the company created a huge list of grievances of why she was fired, but then she responded and turns out most of it was bs, they seemed really to target her after she said that Nijisanji didn't want them playing hogwarts for the drama during a stream. Since then she's been independent and Nijisanji is making drama everyday from news that talents only getting 2% from merch sales (compared to Hololive getting between 25-50%), suspensions disguised as breaks and extreme amounts of miss management.
Then there's the other one involved in drama Vshojo, they recently lost 3 members with Silvervale, a main target gone because of a new contract (but there was implications she left because of lack of support when she was targeted) and as a result according to Kson, the rest got a better contract (probably to stop more from leaving).
The biggest 'win' though for the left was Pikamee going and that will be their crown....wait what, she's back as Henya under Vshojo, well shit then the left have won nothing, not even a phyricc victory.
So does this mean the right can finally do a successful boycott or is this easier to do with pisswater and is the left now too weak and despised that their boycotts are not just useless but emboldens the otherside and normies? Who knows, I'm mostly making this to rub salt especially since the twitter freaks are now admitting to the harassment because of Henya's debut trying to imply that them harassing her wasn't bad because she's with a new company. Room temperature IQ this lot.
Thought it'd be interesting to ask this, especially the Americans on here with the shootings each month. I'll provide a list and rank from who you trust the most with your security and the least. The list is:
- Yourself (armed)
- Yourself (unarmed)
- Friends and family (armed)
- Friends and family (unarmed)
- Strangers (armed)
- Strangers (unarmed)
- Police
- Private security
- Milita groups
- PMCs
- Military
- Organised crime (mafias, gangs, cartels etc)
- Other countries
- International organisations (UN etc)
For my pick, 1-5 stays the same, then I'd go milita groups, private security, unarmed strangers, PMCs, military, criminal organisations, other countries then tied last international bodies and police. The fact that I'd place mafias ABOVE police says a lot about how I feel about the current legal systems, I'd only put police higher if they are rural police. Criminal gangs kept the peace more during the 'summer of love' than the police so that's why I rank them higher.
I think I'm safe in saying 1-4 will probably be the same for everyone here, maybe different order but that's it. But in terms of what the governments are offering for your security, if you can't do it yourself, you're better off buying protection personally.
There was this one comment I came across on a discussion about if Isekai is ever going to run out of steam:
The most popular trope coming from a single place is usually indicative of the biggest problem there. Japan with isekais (deaths & escaping reality), Korea with returns (social pressure & regrets), and China with Cultivation (breaking free from/overthrowing the upper control). Those common tropes are what the people wished they had in real life.
I've been reading quite a few manwha's recently as well as manga and this are REALLY common trends. Enjoyable too as on each side we can easily relate to that desire.
So why not apply it to western fiction, what was the main trend there?
In the past, when the leftists weren't involved, I'd say it was more inspirational, from the obvious Superman to the relatable trying to do his best despite personal issues Spiderman, even in a nihilistic world of mega cities, Judge Dredd could be inspirational just because he still stood up for the values of law and justice in this husk of a world.
After the leftists, I think the worst thing is not just the tranny, race and gay pushing, it's that it's no longer inspirational. Rather than inspire to do better, they want everyone dragged down to their level, have everything given to them and not have to struggle because 'they're on the right side'.
Even though it's majority leftist propaganda, if we apply the same rule here 'Most popular trope indicative of biggest problem' then the West's biggest issue is stagnation, no inspiration to push forward or lead the way for others to follow your example. It might be another reason for the great switch to manga and Anime as people would rather adopt another trope than be stuck in essentially the West's limbo trope. At least the Asian tropes offer a way out of the current problem in a fictional setting.
You can see how much people are deprived of inspirational media with the success of films like Top Gun Maverick or John Wick but what do you guys think, this ring true to you?
Just something coming into my mind given all the recent 'new hate speech laws' and seeing the slow growth of resistance to all these decrees.
We've seen all these policies but EVERY ONE of them is a failure due to spotty enforcement (even if by design), negligence, inefficient allocation of resources, extremely poor supervision etc.
Yet we can see in other countries, despite different issues plaguing them, they are able to have authoritarian rule like in China with their social credit score and the like.
Is the main reason why the left is slowly losing every gain they make or attempts to copy authoritarian rule similar to others down to simple lack of basic competency? As I think a lot of people would be ok submitting if they knew that the system was actually ran well.
Story is very fresh right now with several outlets blowing it up as a 'we won!' moment and AOC calling for his arrest for incitement or some shit.
He needs to do a Rubin or something similar as he was the one thing that made people even watch fox sometimes because of his anaylsis. I sense Fox's viewing figures are going to dive again...
In my search for new ways to piss off the people I despise, I thought why not see what these failures are actually proposing as policy and if it's more fantasy than a new std not coming from degeneracy. Off the top of my head:
Affirmative action: nope, doesn't work, there's no practical application for this as you a depriving those with skills positions for those less skilled and better suited elsewhere
Open borders: Yes, this is a workable policy. So long as you remove ALL social safety nets. No welfare, no unemployment care, no medicare, do that and you can have open borders.
Defunding of police: This is fine so long as EVERY restriction on weapon ownership is also removed. I doubt criminals would act freely if everyone is openly carrying rifles and shotguns let alone handguns.
Social care programs: Not too much of a problem in moderation so long as you ALSO have a border under as tight control as the Korean DMZ and a border security that got training from the NVKD. If you have that then you just have to ensure the programs are not to the point it disenfranchises working.
Green policies: Not bad so long as they are focused at infrastructure upgrades and improvements and not by subsidiaries to companies or extra taxation and regulation for companies that are still using fossil fuel.
Safety regulations: This one is mixed, on the one hand we've seen what happens without the proper safety procedures in place (see the Halifax explosion and Texas City disaster) but on the other you don't want to make it so stifling that it slows production and development or even disenfranchises companies complying (like the recent allergy debacle)
LGBT+ initiatives: No
Reparations: No
That's all I can think of for now, feel free to add more or if you think I was wrong in my assessment of these policies.
After a long week of bullshit we need a light topic now and again. We all know how important music can be and the intro and outro to a show can be a factor in giving it a try or sticking with it. But which ones were WAY TOO good for the shows they were used in your opinions?
For me, this op made by Myth & Roid was too good for the show it was used in, Isekai Cheat Magician. I actually stuck with it longer for the op but it didn't get better so dropped it.
This one is the reason I'm making this, the ed for a new show I tried My one-hit kill sister by Valiswas really good in my opinion to a show that could end up average though I hope it stays good(really simple premise and sister is WAY too into her brother)
An Honorable mention, the 2nd ed for yuusha yamemasu the show itself was good but this ed elevated it especially with the tone shift half-way through.
So yeah, which shows op and eds did you go 'yeah this show is average/boring/bad but the music is fantastic!'
Not too long ago we had this post about Daniel pushing Trans shit and now we have this news, it's like cosmic karma
We all have mixed opinions on J K Rowling, from 'she's a bitch but I like she's pissing off the people I despise' to 'she's evil incarnate funding a male genocide' but this is really funny as pointed out in this recent Clownfish video
Essentially, the Twitter 'boycott' (cough harassment campaign) might have caused this to be green lit as WB made BANK with that game thanks to the amount of attention it got (and I'm sure some vtuber fans bought it to piss off the twitter freaks) so they may focus on Harry Potter more and with Rowling as Executive producer, there ain't going to be any trans shit. This also takes away the star power of all the film stars now turning on Rowling despite her work being the reason they have any fame.
I got no bone in this fight but I'd love it to be successful with a white Hermoine just because it'll be 10 years of rubbing it in these narcissistic freaks faces.
We've all seen it, from the endless attempts at sexualizing children to the walking degeneracy of 'pride parades'. This has long been going on for decades but I want to look at it from two angles, the biological side and the ideological reasons they are doing this and why this is both a weakness and extremely dangerous.
Biology first, since sex is required for the simple 'continuation of our species' nature gave us some incentives to first have sex and stay in a committed relationship since our children take longer to be self sufficient. There are several chemicals linked to sex (oxytocin, dopamine and phenylethylamine) that encourages you to not just have sex but stay together and even cuddle after (which is stronger in women). So what's the downsides if you just act promiscuously? Depression, anxiety, more prone to alcohol and drug addiction, inability to create long term relationships and the list goes on. I think a lot of us that have first or second hand experience with promiscuous women and guys too have seen these trends.
Now for the ideological side, the left knows that healthy relationships in a nuclear family setting are detrimental to their movement thanks to biology, so have been trying ever since the 'sexual revolution' and before that to subvert this. By switching the focus of sex from building a relationship and family to pure self gratification, we have seen the west deteriorate to more single families, rise in STDs and extreme levels of sexualization.
Now to why it's both a weakness and dangerous, the left's focus on this means that on ANY issue, so long as you can relate it to a fetish and therefore sexual gratification, they will endorse it. Try it as a thought experiment, with any position on the right that the left opposes, turn it into a fetish and once you fetishise it, you'll find a section of the far left that encourages it. Abortion, switch it to breeding fetishes especially if it's interracial. They already fetishise being conquered and controlled so that covers a lot of the 'oppressive hierarchy' they talk about. Even 'trad wives' as it's no coincidence they talk about beatings about it like they are trying to make it into a BDSM lifestyle.
This is extremely dangerous because it's now a drug to them and these addicts take this mind frame and project it onto others, that everyone would be happy if they where like them, constantly getting that next hit of sex to keep them going.
I'll start ending it here but one additional point, a question might come up of 'if they are this addicted to sex, why are they so opposed to it in fantasy?' Simple, because like a drug addict, they are living in a delusion, and if that delusion is ever broken, they will hit a low they can't recover from. So they'll lash out at ANYTHING that reminds them of a difference in reality and fiction and people able to draw sexual degeneracy but live normal fulfilling lives is the greatest example of that. It's why they have no problems with to even encouraging sexualization of children since this doesn't hurt their delusion that sexual gratification is the ONLY important issue but a drawing of it harms them because you can go 'this is fiction so doesn't matter, that child in the real world needs to be protected'.
TDLR: the left has become sexual addicts in their attempts to subvert western culture and are a danger to those around them.
I did this last time for fall so why not continue it as it meant a lot of people could recommend shows and is the few times we can be positive about CURRENT entertainment.
Putting in two caveats though:
- I didn't watch everything so only listing what I've seen with a few exceptions
- This season has suffered a lot from production issues and delays, I'll mark some as such as it might be better to hold off watching till they are done
Honorable mentions: Vinland saga, To your Eternity, Blue Lock. I'm too far behind on all of these so can't be fair in giving a review.
Ongoing from last season: Eminence in shadow: finding the perfect balance of cringe and cool, good thing we are getting a second season
Iruma-kun: nice wholesome show, some good character development this season for all the misfit class
New stuff:
Attack on titan: was really an hour long episode but they REALLY went all out, including showing how fucked you are if the rumbling catches up to you
Trigun Stampede: a very good adaptation of a classic series, I know, I know, CGI but this is GOOD CGI that actually makes it great.
Nier Automata Ver 1.1a: production delays A great adaptation from the game, a few jank 3D art here and there but a good watch
BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense Season 2: You had that one friend that breaks the game by playing it for fun, witness the anime. Excellent anime for gamers.
The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady: if you liked Lycoris Recoil, You'll love this as the mc has major Chisato vibes. It has not one, but 2 yuri relationships so if you are 'no gay relationships EVER' skip but it's done organically compared to western media.
Tokyo Revengers Season 2: Building up from season 1, there is more character developments and set up for future seasons, watch if you enjoyed season 1
Tomo-chan is a Girl!: The beginning of tomboy supremacy. A girl that can hang out so well with the guys, she gets bro-zoned. Very funny series plus really love Carol not just as a character but her VA is the same in sub and dub. (Side note Carol and Ko aren't direct cousins, it's a mis translation due to how asian cultures record relations)
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten: a good wholesome romance anime, a nice pallette cleanser
Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire: very basic story but the art is WAY too good for this series. If you like the 'battle junkie mc' premise, recommend watching Black Summoner instead, arts not as good but more character.
Buddy Daddies: Don't go in expecting a Spy Family alternative, it's got funny and wholesome moments but a lot of dark moments as it's about 2 hitmen taking care of a child after they kill her dad (she doesn't know)
Handyman Saitou in Another World: very unusual as the story is segmented in every episode, it might go to what a side character is doing, a flashback or different perspective. A mix of humour and dark fantasy.
Danmachi Season 4: Went A LOT darker this season, lots of death, desperation and close calls
Nagatoro Season 2: inching closer to an actual relationship with this one, maybe if there's a third season we actually get a commitment
Farming Life in Another World: very chill Isakai where mc is reborn with a godly farming tool, best boy Kuro, best girl Zabuton
Ningen Fushin: Adventurers Who Don’t Believe in Humanity Will Save the World: a group of people, all betrayed in different ways set up their own adventuring group to fund their own coping hobbies. Art isn't the best but likable characters.
Chillin’ in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King’s Army: like the title, a chill anime with a timeskip halfway through. Also no question about the son's parentage, he's just as 'cultured' as his dad lol
The Misfit of Demon King Academy Ⅱ: Production delays Despite the chamge in VA, still stays true to the formula, gigachad mc walks in, owns his opponent, walks out.
My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog: I got 5 mimutes in and noped out, I ain't 'cultured' enough so anyone else watch this?
Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement: Simple but brilliant premise, mc gains the ability to teleport between ours and a fantasy world so uses it in the most genius way, Income tax evasion. Lighthearted but alludes to dark elements
The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World: basically the title but added note, was betrayed because he was too powerful so in this life, looking to be in the party with the hero so that he can be more conspicuous. Is ok, best part is some of the monsters he summons like that terrifying one that interrogated a demon
Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill: our mc gets summoned with 3 other people, they get the standard isekai abilities but our boy, he gets 'online shopping'. Smarter than your average mc ducks out of the kingdom that summoned him and travels the world with this broken ability of amazon prime/Uber eats on demand. Great show to watch but eat beforehand as you will get hungry watching and Overlord fans will enjoy the VA for Fenrir.
Dishonorable mention: The Fruit of Evolution 2: I watched 3 episodes of season one, dropped it as it was so bland, thought I'd try 1 episode of season 2, see if it improved....it got WORSE, how did it get even worse! This has overtaken Isekai cheat magician as the worst Isekai I've ever watched!
That's everything, feel free to use it as a guide if you were on the fence, if you think something better should be mentioned or hidden gems I missed. A more calm season compared to fall.
Let's not do what leftists do and assume that everything happened first with us. 'Culture wars' have happened since mankind figured out reading and writing was an efficient way of recording knowledge. It's happened between religions, ideologies, kingdoms and empires, the only difference is how it has been fought either through force or conversion.
From a personal point, I think the left currently are done, their plans are failing more often, they are losing even acknowledgment from the normies and they are more prone to infighting than anything else. But that brings a new problem, damage control, the left unlike a lot of other failed ideologies and groups have no lifeboats, they don't have an out or a way to go back into the shadows. So they are going even harder, desperately trying to hold onto power because they know they'll face the wall (figuratively or literally) when they no longer have it.
So now it's literally a race in the west especially but all over the world to remove the leftists and their collaborators from any power before they can cause even more damage. That's my take but maybe others think the feminists win, China forms a worldwide empire or skynet takes over after having to listen to Twitter for a week. It just seems like the actions of the past 2 years especially is less of an organised, decades/century long plan and more 'throw as much shit at the wall as possible to hopefully damage our enemies'.
Came across this GTA online parody thanks to someone I'm subscribed to then got this Minecraft parody in my feed.
I'm just wondering if anyone else found any good parody videos as we may be at the start of a new golden age of meming thanks to both AI artwork and audio.
