Fetterman is clearly very ill and needs to retire immediately. What his wife and party are doing to the guy should probably be considered inhumane at this point.
And the reason they're doing it is incredibly cynical. As I understand it, If he retires now (as he should) the dem governor gets to appoint a dem replacement for him BUT that replacement will face reelection in 2024. However, if he hangs on past 2024 they get to keep the seat for the full six years. So, in order to keep the seat they're going to push this guy and possibly destroy his health in the process.
I think you could even make the argument that they've already done that. By pushing him to run when he should have been convalescing there's a good chance they've already exacerbated his condition.
I suspect that if you look hard enough you'll always be able to find unidentified objects of the size they've been shooting down in US airspace.
They 'turned up the detectors' and are shooting a few down now purely as cover for the Biden administration which looked stupid and weak letting a giant Chinese spy balloon float across the entire continental United States.
Do it. Oh god please do it.
I've got a family member who's an old time Star Wars fan from back in the day and also a Disney+ subscriber. He's been able to turn a blind eye to all of woke poison the mouse has been vomiting forth lately because he's pretty invested in a couple of their shows.
But this... this is something that he couldn't possibly ignore. Gay-ing up Luke Skywalker would pretty much be a direct slap in his face, despoiling many treasured childhood memories. It might well be the straw that breaks the camel's back. And I'd be willing to bet there are many, many, Disney+ subscribers just like him.
A for profit insurance company's business model is precisely the same as a casino. Every policy they write -- like every play on a slot machine -- is a positive expectancy bet for them and a negative expectancy bet for you. They've done all the math and they understand the risk/reward on all of their policies a LOT better than their customers who just 'know' they 'need insurance'. Unlike the casino, though, insurance companies have an additional layer of nastiness where they can and will welsh on payments when they lose the bet, as in this article. Some of that can be legal, say where they just understand their policies better than their customers (the customer wasn't as covered as they thought they were). And some of it can be downright nasty, where they will just refuse to pay or underpay and see if the customer has the resources to take them court.
On average self insurance is a much better investment than an insurance policy. However, that's with the caveat that you have to have the money set aside (preferably in a low risk investment) to cover your worst case risk, and you have to be realistic about what that risk is.
