In the comics WW literally snaps his neck on live tv after Lord flat out tells her he will never stop trying to do whatever it is he is doing and that it is the only way to actually stop him. So she does. As you can expect, a bit of backlash occurs over one of the Trinity having done this with such widespread viewership.

Quite frankly, there's nothing so 1984 as "contact tracing", "vaccination passports", a ban on social gatherings...
