Reminds me of UK's Cameron Pig Head drama. Successful or arranged to be successful people attend meetings/parties where they do incriminating things behind closed doors which are then recorded on film. Said person will get all the benefits off high society so long as he stays obedient to the elite clique. If they step out of line then the incriminating material gets publicised.
Alternatively he may have been made to do something reprehensible in order to be picked from the crowd at all. Ofcourse that would be caught on camera as well.
