I'm not sure if there is anyone that would contest this in UK but I'm not sure how they can make women protected but not men.There must be a discrimination law somewhere in UK, you can make sex or gender protected but not a specific sex or gender (I assume). But lets say that they get gender as protected, there is no court in UK that would classify an attack on man as hate crime, I can bet that you can falsely accuse a man of rape and it is not going to be a hate crime but if you say anything that feminists do not agree with it is going to be an aggression and hate speech. The conclusion, even if you make it to protect men it will not matter since it will only apply to women. The same as race is protected in UK but you can say the worst things about white people and you get no legal repercussions but if you say that muslim culture is not compatible with UK culture you can get police to your door.
