I'm wondering if "jam" isn't code for something else now. I've never seen the slang form of jam used quite that way. "Makes jam"? It'd be more normal to say "jams", if you're saving space and don't want to type out "attends jam sessions" (ie, "I'm just a stoner who jams", or "I'm just a stoner who hangs at jams ...")
