A decent amount of those people probably don’t even know how to read a source, let alone have a legitimate discussion, so in order to deflect that they do not know what they are talking about they ask for “sources.”
The majority of them act like a bunch of extremely devout zealots. You tell them that the pay gap is a myth, explain to them that the “pink tax” is built on nonsense, or why Communism is not an answer for anything, and they will dismiss you as an idiot, when they are the ones that are acting like one. If you play the game back and ask for a source, there’s a decent chance it will just be “trust me, bro,” or “read a book.” You pretty much cannot win against them, but if you aren’t in a place with completely controlled modding, you might be able to redpill some normies
I ask for source a lot. Most of the time, it's because I find the post unconvincing despite agreeing with it, and I want to improve the quality
