PSO2 west censorship is pretty fucked. according to the post under the videos:
List of things censored in the game so far:
-Minimum Max height for character creation increased from 138cm JP version to 150cm western version to stop the creation of loli or shota characters
-Critical story Cutscenes where characters would appear naked despite never actually showing anything. have such characters clothed and lines changed
-Hot bath cutscenes removed from the game
-Smart innerwear (is the default underwear in-game) is altered or removed.
(keep in mind that you cannot go around walking in just your innerwear, it will be always covered by another layer of costume. but costumes that alter your character completely and allow your character to go around in a thong such as sexy bikini are implemented).
-tiddies Jiggle physic was removed at launch
(players claim it was implemented after a bit back in-game).
-Female and Male gender name tags on the doors of locker rooms in the guild base Hotspring map has been removed.
(this prove the political drive behind the censorship)
-Auxiliary partners height altered too
(aux. partners are alike of pets but use the same character creation of players is like shorty dolls)
-Randoseru, school swimsuit, the version "tiny" of certain costumes possibly being banned too
-The flavor text of multiple in-game weapons has only a default generic text.
-PSO2 new genesis (new game which should release in 2012) trailer is censored in the west. The Japanese trailer shows the characters’ underwear for just a second. at minute 1:17 the English trailer has such part removed.
-The original name of the villain of the game “Darkers” from the Japanese version was changed into “Falzspawns” in west version to not offend black people
-The set of weapons called the Slave series, where each one is "Slave ___". In Japan, such as "Slave Calibur" have been renamed to "Raven".
-2/3 of the weapons of the game are currently not obtainable in the western version.
this is unlikely to be due to censorship but rather to the fact that such weapons are outdated gamewise.
(but in this game you can apply the skin of other weapons on your current weapon for aesthetic purpose. therefore this is a wide limitation)
In regards to that NGS trailer, the part cut out was demonstrating a “skin oiling” slider. Which, yes, had the two characters in their undies to demonstrate the gloss-changing factor.
The game has its moments and is fun sometimes, but I ultimately got bored of it. There's always this shallowness I find in MMORPGs (though I suppose PSO2 is more technically say... an online RPG ), in general, so I'm not apt to play any of them anymore. I suppose PSO2 was an exception because I've played a bit of the older ones and liked them, so thus my interest. I'm actually currently playing through all the older ones including the ones made for PSP.
I suppose perhaps the renaming of the Slave weapons to Raven can answer our questions now about the other changes and censorship. It seems to be politically motivated and Sega of America is HQ'd in Irvine, California, so it's not really a surprise.
I had a cable guy get really offended when I referred to the DVR with the hard drive as the master and the other ones as slaves. I guess server client is the preferred nomenclature, bro
Something important that hasn't been mentioned is the reason they were called Slave to begin with. In the Japanese version of the game, weapons contain flavor text which has been left out in the Global version. For the Slave weapons, the text is: ''A sealed devil weapon from an early era. The user's hardships will call the power of destruction sealed within.''
In any case yes, censorship of video games sucks and I stopped playing the game. Not entirely because of the censorship but it was a significant enough reason.
Wait until you hear about Illegal Negro and Hebrew Punisher.
EDIT: Also, yeah, I can verify this, as I actually built up a pretty good Slave Calibur sword, now Raven Calibur. That's so Raven!
I don't know. If they were Old Type weapons that never got New Type versions in JP, then probably not.

So now we're supposed to call them Ravens in real life? OK, Muslims own Ravens to this day.
Well fuck, I just downloaded and made a character on that game the other day.
If I can't slap the giant titty accessory on my character whats the point.
