So I live in Dallas Ft Worth area and the local teams subreddits are full of people praising them for not playing out of protest. I know it’s just two days but I find myself less and less interested. I’m all for free speech and take a knee if you want to but the narratives are absurd. Painting America as some evil racist country is ridiculous.
Maybe the cops in the Blake and Floyd case weren’t totally in the right but the fact is that Floyd and Blake chose to put themselves in those situations.
As an almost 40 year old black guy I’ve been attacked for saying that maybe if we focused on the disturbing stats about black crime rates there wouldn’t be as many issues with cops. Or why not tell people to comply and not violently resist.
Finally it’s too bad the owners of these teams can’t say protest on your own time like my job would.
I was a big sports fan two years ago. Watched hundreds of games a year. I haven't watched even a minute this year, and I doubt I'll ever go back. Some of the athletes are useful idiots. Some of them are anti-white racists (LeBron). Some are just going along to get along. I don't care. I can't generate interest in watching people who propagate the false and hateful ideology of critical race theory.
It's clear that black violent crime is at the root of these policing issues. We're supposed to believe that cops are magically not racist towards Asians, Hispanics, and Indians but fly into a rabid, hate-fueled shooting spree the moment they see a black dude? No. Per capita, blacks are wildly overrepresented among violent criminals, and violent criminals are far more likely to resist arrest and get themselves shot.
What do all of these police shooting videos have in common? Suspects who ignore lawful orders and resist arrest. Maybe leftists are actually ignorant or maybe they're playing dumb to facilitate political advantage, but ignoring lawful orders from police immediately puts everyone's lives in danger. Police don't know what you're doing when you resist arrest, and they have to assume the worst in order to protect themselves and the community. You don't fight the charges in the street - you fight them in the courtroom. The reason so many of these people are choosing the former over the latter is obvious: they're guilty, they have priors, and they're going to go to prison.
Look at Rayshard Brooks. He was totally cool for 40 minutes. Then he found out he was going to jail and decided to run from the cops. Stole a taser (a weapon declared lethal by the Atlanta DA just two weeks prior), fired it at a cop, and got put down. If you polled the ghetto on "the quickest ways to get shot by police", stealing a cop's weapon and firing it at him would top the list. Yet everyone acted as if some unbelievable tragedy had unfolded in Atlanta - including the black DA who charged the cop with murder.
So here's where we're at right now: black people can do whatever they want, any attempt by police to stop criminal behavior will be met with resistance, and any black person who gets himself killed will trigger riots. I guess that's one way to put your own racial demographic above the law. Just pretend that your race is disproportionately and uniquely targeted by police (false), let a dishonest and partisan leftist media spread your narrative (because they want to destroy the status quo by any means available), and then get to looting, I guess.
I feel bad for all of the decent law-abiding black people in America. They can't address the glaring issues in their own communities because the race hustlers and democrat politicians and black supremacists and violent criminals all depend on large chunks of black American culture remaining toxic. This creates terrible public perception for the whole racial demographic, with cops and republicans and conservatives all reacting with rational disdain - and the anti-black racists crowing "we told you so". No one is helped. Nothing is fixed. It sucks.
Perfectly put.
