I'm sure Romans thought the same thing.
Not in the next 20 years or so. Giant companies like Amazon or Google even if run badly they are not going to go down. Same with Disney.
I am mentioning this corporations because they bring money in to the country while consuming almost nothing in terms of natural resources. They are money making machines for the country. I do not see a future in the next 20 years where they would fall entirely. Think of Xerox and IBM, both tech giants are still up and running despite not being exactly at their top game but they will remain in the market for at least 20-30 more years.
Corporations are not countries. They are not going to prop up the USA. They will pick up the pieces when the USA falls, sure, but the result wouldn't be what anyone before us ever defined "USA" as.
It's bad enough that Americans have forgotten what their own damn "melting pot" was supposed to be, or, worse, turned their backs on it deliberately.
