Microsoft sounds like they’re a bit more organized on this front, and I hope it results in a better showing than last generation if only to cut Soyny down a peg or two.
Sony is notorious for this shit. They broke compatibility with bluetooth headsets with the PS4 for no good reason other than greed. The only system to offer true backwards compatibility is the PS2.
Or better yet just make one for PC and charge money for it. I'm probably wishing for too much because they'd likely make it into a subscription service with horrible DRM.
Backwards compatibility should be a standard at this point. We all ate the silly excuses when going from PS3 to PS4 about the PS3's architecture and cell processing making backwards compatibility something they would need to skip, but there's really no reason that most games shouldn't work when going from PS4 to PS5, though.
I'm annoyed at the nickle and diming from accessories, but that's felt like a standard in the industry for quite a long time now.
It may only be me, but I'm decidedly less excited for the next console generation more so then any other new generation before. Maybe it's because of the current climate of the industry and it's neverending political drama, or maybe because I don't really feel the jump in this generation will be anywhere as noticeable as ones in the past. Sure, games will look prettier, but at this point I'm really more interested in games with unique, stories, gameplay and visuals more than hyper-realism.
Sony is awful. If there are still riots during the holidays, I'll team up with Jamal and we can steal some PS5s and even then, the only thing that looks like it's worth playing is the Demon's Souls remake.
Never owned an xbone for good reason and all new exclusives are coming to pc anyway. Yeah, I'm gonna sit this one out.

And when you also consider that they’re making PS4 controllers incompatible with PS5 games...
