Supporting this, research from the 90s found the number one factor in whether a neighborhood gets better or worse is the number of black people.
Poverty was close, but out of 30+ factors the research looked at nothing besides that was even in the same ballpark.
One of the biggest lies told was that poverty creates crime. It's the other way around: Crime creates poverty.
You can scratch out a meager existence, but not when you have subhuman animals steal and destroy what little wealth you've built up.
