I understand why ancient warriors put runes, sigils and sacred symbols on shields or weapons. Some people just freak out and panic if they see the wrong shape.
At least im assuming the final version kept the swastika simply because the politically correct temple icon didn't show up in the final version. https://archive.md/DGbtG But the Buddhist icon didn't seem to show up at all so either they didn't change it or they opted out of having any icon there at all and decided that foreigners only needed to know where the Shinto Shrines and Christian churches are and not where the Buddhist temples are. I guess if they don't know where the Buddhist temples are then they can't see the swastikas that are imprinted on them . .
Step 1: take another people's symbols.
Step 2: do bad things using it.
Step 3: virtue-signal about how bad that symbol is.
Step 4: tell the people whose symbol you took that they shouldn't be using it.
