If you have the time check out Nightmare Cafe. Show came out in 91 and as a kid I loved it but it only lasted 6 episodes. About a man and a woman who die and find themselves in an all night cafe run by a guy named Blackie played by Robert Englund and people who recently died or are around death go there for a possible second chance. All 6 episodes are on YouTube. Show always has had a special place for me for some reason. Check it out if you have time

I’ve been waiting years for someone to breakdown that episode with me. I missed the God bless part so when I first saw it and the bartender knew all about his leaping I immediately assumed God, but an archangel makes sense. Considering he is in the first episode that adds credence. I still don’t like that he never went home but as a good friend he saved Al’s marriage
Well, remember, Archangel!Al (the bartender) and Sam use the comparison of a priest. Sam points out that priests can retire, A!Al rebuts with the fact that they can only do that once by renouncing the calling... but they can take sabbaticals. And a lot of missionaries historically died in the field.
I need to rewatch the finale. Haven’t seen it in years but remember even as an early teen I found their conversation to be profound

"Mirror Image" from Quantum Leap and "Genesis" from Have Gun, Will Travel are two of the best recaps of a series episodes out there. And "Mirror Image" really should have been at the head of a full season of eipsodes, like "Genesis" was.
Thanks!
