what a weak father. How dare he allow his child to be struck like that.
That might be a grandfather (perhaps making the outrage worse, but frailty more understandable). His hair was all grey.
And then, consider that there are 2 (camera guy, too) seemingly able-bodied savages against an obese woman and a likely unarmed, middle-aged man with their hands full.
Sure, it would be more honorable to die fighting for your descendants, but people of the western world don't really reward honor these days. Nor would they absolutely protect your kin if you did fall.
Immaterial. I would forbid that man from ever seeing my child again if he failed the basic obligation of defending her in that way. Weakness is no excuse for the failure to try. My parents are obligated to protect and fight for my children, and the failure to discharge that duty is a clear sign that I cannot ever trust them to look after my kids again. The woman I can ignore--women are weak and cowardly. The man has no excuse.
I've studied these creatures. Take down the loudest, and most aggressive specimen in one go, and the rest run away. Despite their bravado and aggressive behavior, they are cowards who prey on those they deem weak.
I'm legit kinda shocked.
It's like seeing someone on fire whistling and humming with boredom. I should be feeling disgust and anger but it's confusion and shock. Like if I walked outside and everything is floating a foot off the ground. I thought a father's violent reaction to an adult hitting their kid is as certain as gravity. I'll be thinking about this all day.
