I can't foresee any winning move by carrying on. Prior to today with US support, everything had reached a stalemate if you're being conservative about the situation. Now, if Europe decides to fund a war or put boots on the ground, all Trump and in particular, Xi has to do is announce tariffs and sanctions which will cripple the economy of any nation. Europe is reliant on LNG imports, manufactured goods from China (practically everything here has "Made in China" stamped on it) and minerals that are mined in China. Bear in mind China is wanting to be perceived as the peacemaker and neutral party. Where China goes, the BRICS countries will follow (bye bye Indian outsourcing and workers) and then the Middle Eastern countries will folow (bye bye remaining oil and gas).
European warmongering will not just bring forth the end of Ukraine but potentially the end of Europe too. I take no pleasure in saying this, I support peace, but looking at this pragmatically, I can't foresee any positive outcome for the continent. Particularly for the men forced into conscription and subsequently into the meat-grinder of war.
