If any European country or the EU gives a single penny to Ukraine, they'll find themselves on the wrong end of tariffs and sanctions from the rest of the world which will bankrupt their attempts to fund any war. In effect, yesterday was the beginning of the end of Ukraine. Ukraine knows it, which is why the indictment of Zelenskyy was demanded in Parliament when (or if!) he returns to currently Ukrainian soil. It's also looking as if it is the end of NATO as well, any allyship with Europe and a fundamental shift in geopolitics.
This is the decade where Europe finds itself isolated from the rest of the world with the likelihood that the UK and Germany become pariah states. By conservative estimates, by the end of the decade, all of what is currently Ukraine will be Russian territory. And the Ukrainians know it.
Yesterday was a historic day, but not for the reasons Zelenskyy, the EU, Starmer et al wanted.
