Kennedy was responsible for overseeing the sequel trilogy, which grossed over $4.4 billion in worldwide box office
Gross earnings don't mean shit. Disney hasn't publicized their net earnings because there aren't any. They still haven't earned back what they spent to buy Lucasfilm to begin with, and that is before taking inflation and opportunity cost into account.
I mean to be fair movie studios always commit fraudd in order to make it look like the net earnings are zero. That's how they can avoid paying their actors. They try to pressure people into signing contracts where they get a percentage of the net pay and then they fudge the numbers so that there is none
Normally, yes. In this case though, Disney has been such a mess for the last few years, that all of their fraud has been the opposite and meant to make them look profitable. They are terrified of taking a big stock price hit that would allow Nelson Peltz to do a hostile takeover.

Anyway, good riddance, but too little, too late.
Purchase price of $4 billion
And they spent billions on production and marketing too. They are still way under water on the deal.
Edit: and Disney only gets half of the gross. Theaters get the rest.
