Harassment and death threats are the white noise of public life. If a sufficiently large number of people are privy to your words and deeds, then you are guaranteed at least one of those people will be a mentally ill retard who crosses the line on social media.

The inevitable existence of such people is simply a fact of public life. So its bullshit when public figures shield themselves from criticism by appealing to “muh harassment” or “muh death threats”. If we can’t criticize someone so long as anyone, anywhere, is “taking it too far” - and it is guaranteed that at least one such person will exist - well then I guess we can’t ever criticize anyone who lives in the public eye. This is nonsense logic fostered by influential and powerful assholes in order to prevent completely justified negative responses.
