I've said before and I still do. Putin would be a better and more useful ally than almost any of our actual allies in Europe. I'd trade them all for him.
That isn't even praise of the man, he and his country are poverty stricken savages and filled with snakes you can barely trust. Europe is just that much of a net negative sucking on our teet.
Its not until this Cold War mindset of "Russian must be opposed always, negotiation is done with gritted teeth" stops being the default that we can actually improve our choice of "allies."
If America goes hands off neutral for a while and let's Russia have her way with the annoying eurocucks they might learn to appreciate our alliance they took for granted.
