They haven't responded to public sentiment, I think publicly embarrassing them is a good stop gap to give them the chance to sort their shit out before it all ends in rivers of blood running down their streets when the peasants and the foreigners start butchering each other in increasing and escalating numbers because that is the inevitable outcome of refusing to address the issue.
