Agreed on all counts. Comfort is the enemy of righteousness and action. Comfortable people don't change their minds, self reflect, question, repent, or revolt.
I'd also add that taxation is another form of populace control. It makes people think that the system is "working", even if many people know our system is corrupt, or completely disagree with the current politicians in power. I see tons of right wingers still say that taxation is what's funding our systems, and very few who acknowledge what's actually funding our systems. Everyone could stop paying taxes tomorrow, and literally nothing would change. Once mammon worship (prioritization of money) becomes the norm, banks take control, and everything becomes funded off of fake money.
Currently, all of our systems are funded off of banks. Banks can just print money out of thin air, and then distribute that money to their friends. This is how mega organizations like Blackrock and Vanguard got their start up capital. It was "quantitative easing" (money printing) of over a trillion dollars when Obama was president. Usury is the earning of interest on money, letting money "work", which ultimately leads to bankers and money lenders taking control of a nation. There are too many historical examples to count. Then there's fractional reserve lending and banking, where all banks, from the Fed down, can loan out 9 times more money than they actually have, and then earn interest on that fake money.
All of this is why inflation rates are so bad. They've been printing and creating money out of thin air since 1913, and because of that the dollar has lost over 99% of its value, and wages haven't kept up with inflation since the 70s. Taxation, right now, is little more than a humiliation ritual and manipulation tactic to keep people destitute and inactive, forcing us to work more and more to earn less and less, turning us into literal slaves who work to uphold the insanely malicious and corrupt systems.
